Detection of Malicious Domain Names
Setinský, Jiří ; Perešíni, Martin (referee) ; Tisovčík, Peter (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the detection of artificially generated domain names (DGA). The generated addresses serve as a means of communication between the attacker and the infected computer. By detection, we can detect and track infected computers on the network. The detection itself is preceded by the study of machine learning techniques, which will then be applied in the creation of the detector. To create the final classifier in the form of a decision tree, it was necessary to analyze the principle of DGA addresses. Based on their characteristics, the attributes were extracted, according to which the final classifier will be decided. After learning the classification model on the training set, the classifier was implemented in the target platform NEMEA as a detection module. After final optimizations and testing, we achieved a accuracy of the classifier of 99%, which is a very positive result. The NEMEA module is ready for real-world deployment to detect security incidents. In addition to the NEMEA module, another model was created to predict the accuracy of datasets with domain names. The model is trained based on the characteristics of the dataset and the accuracy of the DGA detector, whose behavior we want to predict.
Protection of domain names
Dušek, Ondřej ; Horáček, Vít (advisor) ; Horáček, Tomáš (referee)
In the diploma work, there are examined domain names, which have become, due to a mass development of the Internet, an economically very valuable estate. Domain names lack, although being a generally known notion, any legal anchoring in the Czech system of law. The absence of legal regulation of domain names is not an anomaly of the Czech legal environment, but it can also be seen in the states with advanced legal culture. Domain names fulfill, in addition to being a very valuable commercial article, identification and/or promotional functions. Just for those reasons, the domain names need to be provided a corresponding legal protection. The introductory part of the diploma work, containing an introduction into the issues of domain names, addresses technical aspects of domain names and the method of their hierarchical structuring. Further, the diploma work contains a list of institutions which play, in the area of domain names, an important role for various reasons. The historical development of the institutions, their organization, and activity contents are briefly described. Then the legal nature of domain names is examined and a question whether a domain name can be considered to be a thing/item, right and/or any other asset value is answered. Furthermore, the diploma work contains a description...

Legal protection of domain names
Matušek, Radek ; Horáček, Vít (advisor) ; Čech, Petr (referee)
Legal protection of domain names The main purpose of this thesis is to provide complex information about the topic of domain names. In the last fifteen years, domain names have become a very valuable estate, that can generate millions of dollars. The value of domain names have been a cause of various exploitations, namely speculative domain registrations of attractive domain names. These registrations are infringing third person rights, mostly trademark rights. The issue at hand with domain names seems to be the registration process. The first come, first serve principle that is associated with domain name registration can be a cause of various legal infringements. The thesis is divided into eight chapters. Novotný, Jakub ; Horáček, Vít (advisor) ; Štenglová, Ivanka (referee)
Legal protection of domain names This diploma thesis provides overall introduction of domain names problematic, the topic which has witnessed stable rise of popularity over the last two decades, with special emphasis on its legal aspects and possibilities of legal protection. Mass expansion of the domain names over the years came hand in hand with some displeasing side effects, namely increasing occurrence of speculative behaviour residing in bad faith registration of attractive domain names. This practice, so called cyber squatting, rests in systematic abuse of key domain name registration principle first come first serve. As a result of increasing number of intellectual property infringements, namely trademark rights, the need for adequate techniques of domain name protection was highlighted. This task however was not going to be easy. From the legal point of view, domain names are very specific institution in a sense that explicit legal regulations are typically lacking and the rules of this exciting sphere are defined based on the soft law principles drafted by the nongovernmental domain names authorities. Therefore an enforcement of effective measures is not as smooth as for traditional institutions. To investigate this particularity, I have tried to prove presumption, that distribution of...
